ABOUT US

Our Story

We love what we do and it shows. Owned and operated by Javier (Beto) Gamboa and his wife, Kirsten, since 2009.  Dream Horse Equestrian Center is a top-caliber facility, complete with fully equipped clay jumping ring, lighted dressage ring and beautiful cross country schooling field.

DHEC offers lessons for all levels of riding experience. We believe that taking care of your horse is an important part of the lesson program. Caring for your horse before and after each lesson makes each rider feel more comfortable around horses, teaches responsibility and allows the rider to feel closer to their mount. Our extensive lesson program focusing on safety and horsemanship so you can move up to that next level. The program features many school horses, group instruction, and frequent participation in local shows. DHEC provides additional services for the equestrian community, including offering horses both for sale and for lease.

DHEC offers all the amenities of first-class boarding with an experienced and dedicated professional staff. Full board includes stall, daily turnout, morning and evening feed and hay. While the weather is pleasant all the horses are out in the pasture night and day unless the owner specifically requests to have them in their stalls. During the summer some horses may spend half the time out and the other half in. We have approx. 4 horses per beautiful, green pasture. We have a fully equipped clay jumping ring with lights and a separate dressage ring. We also have a cross country field perfect for schooling. High and dry 16 stall barn with 12x12 stalls and 3 cement-floored wash racks in the back. On-site trailer storage is also available. Barn includes large tack room with saddle racks and space for your tack trunk, feed/hay room, office with CLEAN bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, washing machine and dryer.

About the Trainer

Javier “Beto” Gamboa has worked with horses for over 35 years and comes from a family of successful equestrians. He is the youngest of five brothers all involved in the equine industry - four (including himself) are trainers and one is an equine veterinarian. His father began training horses in 1948, so it’s safe to say, this is more than just a hobby, it’s the family passion. To date- three family members have competed in the Olympics – one in dressage, one in jumpers and one riding in the Youth Olympics. Javier has competed both nationally and internationally since the age of 10 and began teaching and training in Colombia, South America at the age of 18. He later moved to the United States in 1986, where he has continued his equine career with many successes in the jumper ring. His love for dressage started later in life thanks to an addiction to eventing and has blossomed in to a passion like non other. Javier is striving to obtain his bronze medal in the near future, and doesn’t intend to stop there. With frequent participation in local and regional shows, he still manages to maintain a professional career training horses and giving lessons 6 days a week to his students.
